Fr. Tony Wroblewski
The Challenges of Technology in Biomedical Ethics
In our first exclusively Zoom meeting, Fr. Tony discussed his family's history, his journey into medical ethics, and his training. He reminded us of Jesus' healing and the Catholic tradition of healthcare. He reviewed the Ethical and Religious Directives and their implementation locally. Quoting Archbishop Chaput: "We need to ask ourselves how “Catholic” we really want to be. If the answer is “pretty much” or “sort of” or “on my own terms” — then we need to stop fooling ourselves, for our own sake and for the sake of the people around us who really do believe. There’s no more room in American life for easy or tepid faith."

The Psychiatric Differential Diagnosis of Demonic Possession"
- (Dr.) Deacon Tim Egan
St. Raphael's Guild helped host a screening of Fatal Flaws: A thought-provoking journey through Europe and North America to ask one of the most fundamental philosophical questions of our time: should we be giving doctors the right in law to end the life of others by euthanasia or assisted suicide? Filmmaker Kevin Dunn uses powerful testimonies and expert opinion from both sides of the issue to uncover how these highly disputed laws affect society over time.
